Health Tests Required for Mating
- Official certification for hip (HD) and elbow (ED) dysplasia
- Annual eye examination certifying the absence of eye disease (cataracts)
- DNA tests for centronuclear myopathy (CNM), degenerative myelopathy (DM exon 2), exercise-induced collapse (EIC), hereditary nasal parakeratosis (HNPK), oculoskeletal dysplasia (OSD), progressive retinal atrophy (prcd-PRA), skeletal dysplasia/dwarfism (SD2), coat length and coat colour.
Owners of eligible females can count on our advice to raise the litter as well as possible (preparing for whelping, birth and puppy rearing, natural feeding), as well as help with the ENCI paperwork.
All our Labrador males hold official Ce.Le.Ma.Sche. dysplasia certificates (HD/ED) and are approved for breeding. They are tested at Laboklin and/or Genefast laboratories for the breed’s hereditary diseases (CNM, DM, prcd-PRA, OSD, EIC, HNPK, SD2, Long Coat, NARC), with a DNA sample lodged with ENCI. To ensure their continued good health, they also have annual heart and eye examinations.
